I think every single platform degenerates over time, simply because once they have scale, they attract a lot of advertisers (including Amazon) and then put all those crappy ads (most of them make no sense for me) in the feed and basically tune me out or create distaste in my mouth. This is what makes the platforms all the same over time - you can look at Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and even LinkedIn. They become garbage over time in an effort to earn revenue, and then something new pops up, which claims to be different, but only for few years (sometimes even less than a decade).

Also, these platforms, in my opinion, are different than other platforms like Uber, which are more like services platforms and not emotional content consumption platforms.
